#Way of the samurai 1 iso code
The code of the Samurai/ or the way of Asura? The people tormented by unprecedented misfortune scrape by, knowing not when it will all end. In every region insurrection and destruction reign, spurring increasing ruin. Its vestiges even now remain and starving regions show no sign of relief. It is the time spoken of to subsequent generations as the great famine of Tenmei. There are 3 game modes in the European PS2 version: Time Attack, VS and Practice. The amount of backgrounds has been reduced, but the game now includes more original ones. By meditating, the Concentration One gauge can be used to slow down the opponent's moves or perform Fatal Slashes. Players can also choose the opposite strategy. Other special moves are based on rage with a Rage Gauge, and Rage Explosion for invincible attacks. The weapon damage is based on a green Sword Gauge, which depletes when many weapon moves are used in succession, and then regenerates. Next to the gameplay of the base game, this release adds the possibility to kill your opponent (fatalities), along with hidden Zetsumei Ougi moves for each character, providing an instant kill when connected.

There is no story mode, even though the introduction and story of SSV is used in the European PS2 version. The European PS2 version, confusingly called Samurai Shodown V, contains 26 characters from the start, and three hidden playable bosses: Amakusa, Zankuro and Mizuki (Samurai Shodown II boss). There is no storyline for this version, just the fights. A few problems were corrected in this release, along with the addition of some new features. Samurai Shodown V Special is a re-release of the base game, which was the first game in the main series not developed by SNK, but designed by Yuki Enterprise instead.
