Be sure not to delete the "run" folder, or anything else that doesn't explicitly say "wondershare" accidentally. Then go back to your computer, conduct a search, and whatever traces of it you find still lingering (including the setup.exe), DELETE THEM. Once you've located it (it should be in some kind of random location like "HKEY_Classes_Root, TypeLib," etc.) just right-click and select DELETE. When the Run dialog appears, type "regedit." Once you're in the big registry window with all those folders, simply collapse them all, select the Computer, and then under "Edit," select FIND. Simply press the start button, type "run" and hit enter. The way to get rid of it - and I'm telling you, the results were INSTANTENOUS - is not just to do a search for every trace of it in your systems-folder, but ALSO to search for it in the registry. Like I said, I built this thing myself and NEVER experienced any symptoms even close to this.Īfter uninstalling the program normally, as some of you have noticed, the "Wondershare Helper Compact.exe" will continue to stick-around, and even showup as a startup-service. not internet explorer, windows explorer.) and "Computer" was taking up to 1-5 minutes to load, etc. My right-click was taking up to 30 SECONDS TO PROCESS per-item, WINDOWS EXPLORER was constantly crashing (i.e., "Windows Explorer has stopped working". So I opened my msconfig startup services window - after spending 2+ hours on the phone with Norton, which helped but STILL wasn't able to get rid of every trace of this bugger.

Hey Guys - in case you haven't figured it out yet, I just wanted you to know - I've had this EXACT same problem, and my custom-built OEM version of Windows 7 professional (64-bit) was giving me ALL kinds of headache due to this stupid F**king PARASITE. Please feel free to respond and I will take any advised action when I return from work tomorrow.Įdited by JamesGlasgowUK, 11 February 2014 - 08:49 AM.

Unfortunately as it is 1am here and I have work in the morning I will need to update you later on the progress of the malware bytes scan. I have run a search and received hits for wondershare in the following locations:Ĭ:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\WondershareĪfter some difficulty I have managed to run a malware bytes check which is still running at the moment. My reason for placing my enquiry here is as it doesn't seem easy to remove I doubt it's 100% above board.

Rather stupidly only used windows own add remove for wondershare and I still seem to have the support bit installed (which I'd like to get rid of). I also noted that my avast anti-virus Chrome plugin had been disabled. I used ccleaner to remove spigot and adwcleaner to remove any other references thereof. I mainly use Chrome so became rather suspicious when my default search engine had changed from google to yahoo and it was mentioning spigot in the address bar.

I downloaded wondershare converter and I have since been having a lot of problems with my laptop which runs MS Windows 8 64 bit edition. Unfortunately like many people I guess my first contact with your good selves is with a problem which I'm hoping you may be able to assist with.
