Unfortunately as it is 1am here and I have work in the morning I will need to update you later on the progress of the malware bytes scan. My reason for placing my enquiry here is as it doesn't seem easy to remove I doubt it's 100% above board.
Rather stupidly only used windows own add remove for wondershare and I still seem to have the support bit installed (which I'd like to get rid of). I also noted that my avast anti-virus Chrome plugin had been disabled. I used ccleaner to remove spigot and adwcleaner to remove any other references thereof. I mainly use Chrome so became rather suspicious when my default search engine had changed from google to yahoo and it was mentioning spigot in the address bar.
